Why We Test Every Game In Airplane Mode
Every game we cover goes through the same check: we install it, get past the intro, then flip on airplane mode and see what breaks. It sounds silly, but it catches a lot.
You'd be amazed how many games claim to work offline and then freeze on a loading screen the moment they can't phone home. Some hide it well, only failing when you try to save or open a menu. That's exactly the sort of thing that ruins a commute.
The test also tells us how honest a game is about its design. The ones built with offline players in mind save locally, pause cleanly, and never punish you for a dropped connection. Those are the ones we recommend.
It's a small ritual, but it's the backbone of the whole site. If a game can't survive airplane mode, it doesn't belong in a catalog about offline play.
